Getting booked and paid through Babysits is an easy way to handle payments. The family pays before the booking starts, so the money is already there when you arrive, and it reaches your bank account within a few days. You keep 100% of what you earn. No chasing, and no awkward money conversations.
Setting up payments
There are two things to set up before you can receive payments:
Step 1: Provide your details
Platforms like Babysits are required by law to collect and report certain personal and income details to tax authorities. This includes your name, address, date of birth, and tax ID number.
Step 2: Add your bank details
You'll be redirected to Stripe, our payment provider, to enter your bank information.
Keeping track
You can see all your bookings and download receipts for your records, which is useful when you report your income.

Yes. Babysits does not take a commission. The Member Protection fee is paid by the family on top of your rate, not deducted from it.
Babysits is required by law to report income earned through our platform to tax authorities. Your tax ID number helps us identify you in that report. Your details are stored securely and only shared as required by law.
Use the address in the country where you are registered to pay taxes. If you are unsure where that is, we recommend checking with your local tax authority or a financial advisor.
Stripe is our payment provider. When you add your bank details, you are redirected to Stripe's environment so that your financial information is never stored on Babysits.
When families book you through Babysits, they pay via our secure platform and you receive your earnings after completing the job. If anything goes wrong, our support team is there to help resolve it. Booking through Babysits is the only way we can step in.
After successfully completing the babysitting appointment, you will receive the payment within 3-8 days. You will receive an email with the day we estimate the payment will be transferred. You can also check the payment on the bookings page.
Yes. Being under 18 doesn't stop you from being booked and paid through Babysits. Our payment provider Stripe does require a parent or legal guardian to sign off before you can get paid through Babysits. In the United States you complete the setup yourself and Stripe asks for their details along the way. Everywhere else, your parent or guardian needs to fill in the form: we explain this before you start.
Yes, everyone who earns money is required to report it to their tax authorities. Depending on how much you earn and where you live, you may not owe anything, but you still need to report your income.
No, your earnings on Babysits stay the same. Babysits does not withhold any money.
Your personal details are encrypted and stored securely. Babysits only shares your information with tax authorities as required by law and never sells your data to third parties.
